Winners Crown at Numidia Dragway’s Mid-Summer Shootout

The Mid Atlantic .90 Association traveled up to Numidia Dragway for the Mid-Summer Shootout on July 8 & 9th. A guaranteed $1,500 was up for grabs in all three .90 classes. On Saturday, round 1 was completed in Super Street before a downpour delayed Super Comp half-way through eliminations. Once the rain cleared and the track was dried the .90 gang got back to action. Once first round was completed, the dew point started to drop and the decision was to push the rest of eliminations to Sunday. With a lot of racing to do, the staff at Numidia & President Rob Keister teamed up to get it all completed by dusk. Continue reading “Winners Crown at Numidia Dragway’s Mid-Summer Shootout” »

To enter it is $30.00 at the gate & $75.00 paid to Rob Keister before the 2nd qualifying shot.  Rob will be located on the right side of the track as the .90 cars will be parked on the other side of the track and working out of those lanes (Look for the banner). The series pays back at 3rd round loser based on car counts. We will also have a racers BBQ on Saturday Night that is free to all the racers and crew who participated that day. If you have any questions feel free to contact Rob Keister @ or 856-332-2851.

Friday Night – Gates open at 5:00pm (Gates will probably be open earlier for us to park but, they close them around 4:30 so no stragglers get in for the Friday Night deal free.)

Saturday Race– Gates Open At 9AM  – Jr. Dragster time runs start at 10:30 AM, Jr. Dragster Eliminations at 12:00 PM, Street-Pro-S/Pro-M/C Time Trials start at 1:30 PM, Eliminations start at 3:30 PM (Subject to Change). I’m going to try to get us started a little earlier so those who want to double enter and run the bracket race can do so.

Sunday Race – Gates Open At 8:00AM  – Jr. Dragster time runs start at 9:00 AM, Jr. Dragster Eliminations at 11:00 AM, Street-Pro-S/Pro-M/C  Time Trials start at 11:30 AM, Eliminations start at 1:00 PM. Depending on car counts, weather and new entries this could be a 1 and go for the day but, that is TBD and will decide on that day.

8th Annual Sportsman Circuit Shootout on tap for June 17 & 18th

After over a month off from action the Mid Atlantic .90 Association kicks back into action at Cecil County Dragway on Father’s Day Weekend of June 17 & 18th, 2017. The series kicked off at Atco Dragway in early April with 3 different winners on both days of action. Steve Everett Sr. (SC), Hank Smith (SG) & Jimmy Stack (SST) lead the points going into Cecil County and Race # 3 & 4.

Gates will open on Friday Night the 16th at 5pm and racing starting at 6pm for those of you who might want to get a couple of test shots in before Saturday. Gates will open at 8am on Saturday the 17th with time runs beginning at 10am. The staging lanes will be open for tech at 9am but, NO FREE TIME RUNS MAYBE TAKEN before the 10am time shot. This is due to qualifying points are awarded to racers and allowing additional time runs will allow some racers to get dialed in easier than others and make it an uneven playing field. As always two qualifying shots will be completed (weather permitting) and the fields will be set on a ladder with the higher qualifying car getting lane choice for that round only.

Northeast Shootout @ Atco crowns first .90 Champions of the season.

April 29 & 30th  – Atco Dragway – Atco, NJ – The Mid Atlantic .90 Association kicked off its 2017 season with the 4th Annual Northeast Shootout. Drivers from all over the Northeast converged on the South Jersey facility to kick off the brand new season. The event was held on a somber note as President Rob Keister lost his Mother earlier in the week after she fought a long battle with cancer.

On Saturday, Parlin, NJ Super Comp standout Chris DePasquale took home his first Mid Atlantic .90 Trophy in his “Addicted” Undercover Dragster with a victory over Steve Everett Sr. DePasquale left little room for Everett in the final round with a .005 light and almost perfect 8.903 to take home the victory. In Super Gas, Hank Smith from Leesport, Pa took his Ken’s Kustom Camaro to victory over Joe Eckel out of Rockaway, NJ. Smith took the advantage at the tree (.002 to .026) and parlayed that into a 9.923 to 9.920 hole shot victory. Rounding out Saturday’s action, it was a battle of old rivals as the only two Super Street Champs the series has seen squared off in the finals. In the end Keith Mayers out of Ellendale, De took to victory over Gilbertsville, Pa own Jimmy Stack when both drivers recorded exact 10.892 E.T.’s but, Mayers won it on baby hole shot.

On Sunday, the series concluded its 2nd race of the weekend with three new winners. In Super Gas, two-time MASGA Champion Tom Goldman took his 1958 Corvette to victory over Saturday’s winner Hank Smith when Smith lit the red-light in the final. In Super Comp, Kathy Smulligan out of Coopersburg, Pa gave Steve Everett Sr. his second runner-up of the weekend with a 8.894 to 8.890 result and her first MASCA victory since 2010 at Maple Grove. In Super Street Marty Ganjoin scored his first victory of the season in his 1968 Camaro after Jimmy Stack fouled by .001 in his 1970 Dodge. Ganjoin legged it out to a 10.93 @ 134mph for the victory. The series will take the month of May off before returning to action at Cecil County Dragway in Rising Sun, Md on Father’s Day Weekend of June 17 & 18th.

4th Annual North East Shootout @ Atco – April 29 & 30th

Well, the 2017 season is upon us and that only means that the Mid Atlantic .90 Series will be firing up their engines for its 5th full season of .90 Racing, featuring the classes of Super Comp, Gas & Street. Once again VP Race Fuels (Newark, De) and Roadrunner Race Fuels (Mohnton, Pa) will be the presenting sponsors of this series along with a long list of other supporting sponsors that will be offering up contingency gift certificates such as Comp Cams, Meziere, Auto Meter & JKR / Lucas Oil.

Onto the info for the Northeast Shootout at Atco, Gates will open on Friday evening at 4:30pm till around 10pm for the Street Wars & Test and Tune. Gates will then re-open at 8am on Saturday & Sunday Morning with time runs beginning around 9:30am starting with Super Street then Super Comp & finishing off with Super Gas and back into that rotation again. We have no filler in between Super Comp & Gas this weekend, so if you plan on running both please be in line early for Super Comp. Saturday has an action packed day of racing as of course the .90 series will be in action in the morning and the Atco Bracket series consisting of Street, Pro & Super Pro will hit the track in the afternoon and continue into the night. Any .90 racers are welcomed to jump over into the bracket race if you would like but, will have to pay the additional fee at the gate. On Sunday the .90 Cars return along with the Atco Dragway Motorcycle Points and Test & Tune. Gate fee will be $35.00 per day (Basically Track Rental) & $75.00 paid to the Mid Atlantic .90 Trailer and we start paying back at 3rd round loser. We have a new payout system for this year based off of car counts and at 26 cars it will pay out $1,000 and after 33 cars keep going up.
