Mid Atlantic .90 Association
Well, it’s that time again, time to light the fires and burn some tires as the Mid Atlantic .90 Series rolls into Atco For Race # 1 & 2 of the 2018 Season on April 28th & 29th. As always here is the info you all need for the weekend and what to expect:
A couple things on Parking:
**I’m not sure if Atco still does it but, when you pull in don’t park in a spot that has a little License Place and Name on it on a fence. They are reserved spots for the weekly bracket racers and they pay $$ for those spots, since they are with us on Saturday please don’t park in their spots or you will have to move,
**If you’re planning on leaving your stuff at the track for the following weekend’s NHRA National Open. Dave Mohn has asked if we leave certain area’s open for sponsors that support Division 1 so they can have good parking spots. Attached is the area of blocked off spots. I’m sure it won’t all fill up but, we have to play by the rules.
Gates open at 4:30pm on Friday April 27th with Test & Tune and Parking:
*As I always say, Test & Tune is optional, since it’s a lot of street cars the track will probably won’t be as well glued on Friday Night as it would be on a Saturday or Sunday so run at your own judgement* I think it is $25.00 for T&T on Friday Night & $10.00 for spectators. Yes you will have to pay the gate fee if you’re coming in to park – not my rule!!
Gates will be open till 12pm or when the bar closes and will re-open in the AM around 8am.
If anyone wants to get registration, points sign-up, etc done and out of the way Friday Night your more then welcomed to do that as I should be there around 6pm.
Saturday April 28th – Gates Open at 7:30-8am If the line is long by Jackson Road try to fit all on the road…try not to block the road if possible, the cops get all bent out of shape)
Gate Fee: $30.00 plus $15.00 Crew per day
.90 Fee: $80.00 per day
Membership: $75.00 – Guarantees a $1,000 or more to the winners per race as long as your a member and sticker is on the car. (One time Yearly Fee)
We will run Q1 around 9:30-10am. They have an action packed Saturday so when you’re called please come up to the lanes. Tech will be in the lanes so bring all your stuff and make sure it’s all in proper dates. Radio Station is 89.7 FM. Juniors will probably be out first as they have a points race that day then maybe the Footbrake series then us for Q1. So we have some time in between runs this time around before Q2. First round is on a ladder and higher qualified gets lane choice, ONCE YOU ARE PAIRED – IF YOU CAN GO UP TOGETHER IN THE PITS, FIGURED OUT WHAT LANES YOU WANT, MOVE UP TO THE FRONT OF THE LANES, YOU CAN CHECK TIRE PRESSURE, GET READY, ETC UP AT THE FRONT….Someone has to go down first!! We have a lot of racing to do and can’t have the stalemate in the lanes — we will go to designated pairs at the next event if this doesn’t improve.
Racers BBQ: As I’ve mentioned before the first race of the season will be the 1st Annual Beth Keister Memorial Meatball Feast. Anyone who knew my Stepmom before she got sick and passed away, she always made it a point at the last .90 race of the season to come down and have friends & family come to watch “Uncle Bob” Race and have Meatball Sandwiches. So in her honor the first race of the season, the Saturday Night BBQ will be Meatball Sandwiches. If anyone wants to bring a side or dessert please let me know. The Senft team is making homemade French Fries for the night and even if you don’t bring a side please come out and enjoy the company & food rather you’re a member or not.
Sunday, April 29th – Gates Open at 7:30-8am
Same Costs as Saturday
We will run Q1 around 9:30 – 10am as all they have is Motorcycle, T&T & Nostalgia that day so it will be a little quicker paced program then on Saturday. Pretty much same program as Saturday except Super Gas & Comp will switch in rotation.
Any questions – Rob Keister 856-332-2851 (Shoot me a Text or Call after 5pm) or E-Mail me here or hit me up on Facebook Messenger.
We’ve had a minor change in the 2018 Mid Atlantic .90 Schedule for this upcoming season. Unfortunately, with some changes at Maple Grove Raceway they have had to back off the original date planned for the series. With that being said, Atco Dragway has stepped up to the plate to host us for another weekend in it’s place. Atco will now host the 10th Annual Sportsman Circuit Shootout on June 23rd & 24th. I know it’s on top of the Norwalk National Event that a lot of you like to go too but, I didn’t want to lose 2 dates off the schedule because with this crazy weather anymore, who knows what might happen. Thanks to DJ, Caitlin & the staff over at Atco for jumping up and taking us that weekend.

December 1st, 2017 – The Mid Atlantic .90 Series revealed its 2018 Schedule on Thursday Night via Facebook Live. The series will consist of 10 events on a 5 weekend double event schedule and will feature 4 weekends before the PC Richards or Lucas Oil Series competes at the same event the following weekend. Over the past 4 seasons the series has seen major support from VP Racing Fuels / Roadrunner Race Fuels as its title right sponsors and this will continue into 2018 with the help from Direct Cabinet Sales also jumping on board for the season as title right sponsor. With those two on board the series will feature a guaranteed payout of $1,000 or more to all members of the series. We’ve also added a few bonus incentives from Ken Moses Race Transmissions, Wheelz Up Radio & Joe Eckels Rockaway Racing that will award prizes to the Best Losing Packages at each event in each class.
In other big news the series has signed on with The Contingency Connection out of Tennessee for 2018 to bring the contingency awards to an all time high. President Rob Keister said “My Main goal for 2018 was to make the contingency for the racers bigger and better and with Contingency Connection apart of the series this season I can only say that the sky is the limit”. With the Contingency Connection on board this will offer the event winners and some random racers prize book totally thousands of dollars towards everyday parts and pieces for their racing operations to help the racers save.
The series will kick off the season at Atco Dragway the weekend before the PC Richards National Open on April 28th & 29th for the 6th annual Northeast Shootout. After a few weeks off to celebrate Mother’s Day, the series travels back to Maple Grove Raceway after a year hiatus for the 10th Annual Sportsman Circuit Shootout on May 19th & 20th which is the weekend before the Lucas Oil Series event at the Grove. As the NHRA National & Divisional Schedules heat up the series takes about a two month break before ramping back up at Atco Dragway on July 28th & 29th for the 6th Annual Mid-Summer Shootout the weekend before the Lucas Series invades the same 1/4 mile facility the following weekend. The series then travels down I-95 to Cecil County Dragway on August 11th & 12th for the prestigious Ronnie “Uncle Buck” Pig Roast and .90 Event which will be celebrating its 25th year in 2018. It all comes to a conclusion right back at Cecil County on September 22nd & 23rd for the 6th Annual .90 Finale.
For more information on the series you can visit www.midatlantic90.com or find them on Facebook, Instagram and Twitter. If you’re not a computer savvy person you can reach Rob Keister at 856-332-2851 or Rekeister@aol.com.
Atco Dragway – Atco, NJ – The Mid Atlantic .90 Association crowned its 2017 Champions after an action packed weekend of racing. All three series champions came down to the final day with Race # 10. In Super Comp Amanda Boicesco became the first women champion of the series and the first Father – Daughter duo to win a championship as she joined her father Iggie who is a multiple time MASGA Champion. She did so after the closest competitor Bill Hardifer red-lighted in the 3rd round ending his hope at the championship. In Super Gas, a battle ensued between George Smith, Derek Clark & Tom Goldman. Once the dust had settled for the weekend all three racers held the points lead at least once in a 48 hour period. In the end George Smith and his “Livewire” Camaro would claim his first MASGA championship by defeating Clark in the 2nd round and clinching the championship after a tough semi-final race with Mike Handras. The final class to be settled was Super Street. Martin Ganjoin needed a lot to happen for him to be claimed Champion at days end on Sunday. Sitting in 3rd place and behind by almost 5 rounds to point’s leaded Dom Burgese, Ganjoin was determined to go for the gold. Early exits by Burgese and 2nd place Keith Mayers on Saturday gave him the opportunity he needed and he took full advantage by winning Race # 9 and taking over the points lead. On Sunday, with a crowd watching on Burgese lost in the 1st round and Mayers bowed out in the 2nd round opening the door for Marty. When Rick Mattioli lost in the semi-finals it officially clinched the championship for Ganjoin. All three champions are first time winners of the series and will be celebrated at the annual banquet in 2018.
